The aim of the Irish Society of Inherited Metabolic Disorders is to raise the awareness of Inherited Metabolic Disorders and related topics in Ireland. The Society, founded in 2015, aims to promote and advance education amongst health care professionals with an interest in Inherited Metabolic Disorders.
Professor Ahmad Ardeshir Monavari – President
Professor Monavari has more than 20 years experience in Inherited Metabolic Disorders in Ireland, the United Kingdom and Canada. He has been a permanent consultant in The National Centre for Inherited Metabolic Disorders (NCIMD) for more than 10 years. Currently, he is the Clinical Director of the NCIMD.
Professor Monavari is interested in all areas of Inherited Metabolic Disorders with particular interest in Glutaric Aciduria (GA1), Urea Cycle Defects (UCD) and Maple Syrup Urine Disease (MSUD).
Jenny Mc Nulty – Secretary
Jenny Mc Nulty is a senior metabolic dietitian in the National Centre for Inherited Metabolic Disorders. She is the current secretary of the ISIMD.
